Here's my entry for xerox2 and skiesofsilver 's TF writing contest, Status Shift; a contest of stories themed around a change in rank, reputation, or role. I decided to take the RPG route with a change in class and alignment, from mercenaries at the service of a despotic king, to big strong paladins. Heroic Good. Very Heroic, and very Good. After all, there's so much corruption going on in TF, how about a bit of purification to restore the balance?

It was a good read, but I did feel like it was a corruption of sort, since it wasn't willing, and the two paladins do seem evil to me, I mean, did they really have to purge the souls of mercenaries? couldn't they have just let the soul stay around, or given them new bodies and have them repent?
Glorious suits of armour, the metal so shiny, shimmering beyond silver, with engravings, embellishments, jewel encrusted ridges, bulky pauldrons, protetion all over. Metal so thick that nothing could pierce it, and so heavy that only the largest and strongest of warriors could handle its weight.
