There was a contest a while back for CBC when they asked Canadians to come up with a new song for their Hockey Night in Canada broadcast. My dad came up to me on the CLOSING DAY for that contest and asked if I'd help him write a song.

So yeah, this song was written and recorded in one day.

Sadly, though, we failed to notice that the closing time for the contest was 0:00 eastern time, and we're pacific, so when we tried to upload the song at 22:00 PST, it wouldn't let us. Damn. Oh well, we still have a song!

My dad played the rhythm starting at 0:08, the melody at 1:12 and the rhythm again at 1:44, as well as the ending chord-sequence, all on guitar. I played pretty much everything else, including the drums and bass, but he wrote a lot of the material. Kudos to him for his first composition!

Sounds like a hockey song, don't it? =P
