This complaint has really become prominent as of late and while I can see the irritation in repeated blerting of mindless drivel, the unimaginative people who warble this nonsense are unfortunately common and also basically impossible to talk down.
I think it's down to the fact that these people are idiots who can never win a real argument about things that matter so they target things that most people don't care about or are taken as red so they can make themselves feel better and be protected by "facts"
It's basically the curse of all fiction that some people will fail either through choice or lack of imagination to except the simple joys of an outlandish spectacle
