Right but its cold spark it bounces right of of you as long as you dont get it trapped in your clothes like he did. lol not serious but it coulda been had he let it stay in there, it comes off in chunks so make good enclosures for it.

Yeah, the sparks wouldn't be all that bad but im glad to see you using a safe inclouser (dirt floors,stone walls, metal ceiling) Our old "leader" tried (badly) made steal wool poi in a open field with lots of dead grass..had us safety's going crazy putting the little fires out.. cant wait to see the video on these

We don't seem it some times, but we are very cautious, last time he did this was with fireworks, and we had all kinds of stuff waiting, the trees and grass were soaked down, there was a few fire extinguishers and a box of bandages and burn creams of various kinds and my car was right there incase he had to go to the hospital for any reason.

This is nice! Spectacular photos.

I haven't seen it done with poi before, but we used to juggle using pulled-apart heavy steel wool, couple of cotton balls inside, soaked in lighter fluid. The trick is simple: NO OVERHAND GRABS. And you have to be careful to toss lightly so the flame doesn't get fanned back into your palm.

But it looks _awesome_ when you can pull it off.
