Well, it's about time this dork got a proper ref, eh? I have had Cal for two-and-a-half years by now, after all... Anyhow, after a long period of procrastination, I'm finally ready to put this out into the world! I dunno whether this is really like, good or not, but the important thing is that it exists, right?
There are some details that this reference sheet officiates that I'd like to point out: first off, as I mentioned in the doodle I posted in scraps the other day, Cal is no longer skinny. I had originally made him rather lean because I had issues with my bodily image, but in the past year I've managed to get over that, and so I'm changing Cal's body type to better match my own.
Second, Cal is no longer strictly male. Maybe this shouldn't be brought up so casually, but I've questioning my gender a little recently, so I've been using Cal to experiment with that. Basically, this means that you can refer to them with whatever pronouns you want, and maybe there'll be art of them looking more feminine, I dunno. Not anytime soon, but someday.
Third, Cal's part-demon! I realize how edgy this sounds, but believe me, it's simpler than what I had in mind for them previously. Ultimately this won't mean much for them as a person, but it does factor into their dramatic backstory which I'm currently trying to write about.
And fourth, this isn't new and it's been stated elsewhere, but Cal's tail is named Ex (short for Excalibur) and he is a good noodle. He's also not actually intelligent in the same way that most tails aren't intelligent, but the idea of him splitting off and developing his own consciousness somehow is one I've considered (at least for like, AU stuff).
I'm thinking of making a ref sheet for Joy too, so hopefully I'll be able to figure that out without too much difficulty. That being said, that's all I've got for now.
