“She looked at her old life one last time, took a deep breath and whispered, “I will never see you again.””
“It is a nice day for a ride, isn’t it, Zephyr?” Gingerly brushing out her steed’s mane, Whisper looked up to the sky. The last remnants of summer swirled around her as she watched a few cherry blossom petals filled the air around her…their scent slowly fading with the season.
It was a beautiful autumn morning: perfect for a ride through the countryside. She had business to attend to in a nearby village with a potential client. And while it was easy enough to go on foot, barely a few miles, it had been too long since she last rode on Zephyr. She could tell he was restless as he kept nudging and nickering at her. “Okay, okay, we will go for a ride!”
Adjusting his saddle, Whisper hopped up on him and guided him out of the stables.
She had forgotten how wonderful it felt riding; it felt so peaceful as if everything was just…right. Easing him into a trot, she took in the scenery around her. She had walked past these same trees, lake, and mountains so many times, yet everything seemed different when she was on a horse.
She felt a slight tug on Zephyr’s reins as she glanced down at him; she could tell he wanted to gallop. She was in no particular rush to get to her next destination, yet…
She watched as a flock of cranes flew past them, a cheeky smile crossed her lips, “Let’s go!”
Ah, there is nothing like a peaceful ride through the countryside on your trusted mount. It really is a lovely way to start the day. Let us hope this ride does not lead to any type of trouble-
Then again, this is Whisper we are talking about- trouble seems to find her even when she is not looking for it.
Yes, Whisper not only loves horses, but she has one! I know I have never had her drawn on one, but that is because I have had a hard time finding artists that can draw feral horses and anthros in the same setting! Hopefully we will see more of Zephyr in the future.
An absolutely gorgeous piece of Whisper done by Feilong as she heads off to her next adventure. Where is she off to? We will find out soon enough…

I enjoy how dynamic this piece is! Feilong know how to guide the eye to the focal points! I think it's an interesting style, the soft colours and brushwork makes the background evokes the same feeling in me as when I look at the background paintings for Bambi and other 30s-40s era disney movies. Very serene and absorbing!

Quality is not necessarily proportional to amount of work hours put into something. If it were my 2+ year WIP novel would be the greatest story ever told and yet I feel the need to make my own publishing company to get that into print once it's done haha!
