Its a reference to Hitch hikers guide to the Galaxy and how the computer that was designed to answer the meaning of life watched TV and gave an answer of 42 rather then doing something to actually discover the meaning of life. =P

I know. In the actual book, however, the computer was asked to find "the answer to life, the universe, and everything". Not the actual meaning.

Interesting. I never got a chance to sit down and read the book. I heard there is a lot more to the book then the movie. The movie was good, but I could only imagine how much further the book went.

There are actually quite a few books, but they are short and easy to read. If you don't have time, though, I would suggest getting tapes of the radio show to listen to when you're out and about.

You should check out the BBC series, it's much closer to the books than the shitty-awful new movie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hi.....xy_(TV_series)
