Yeah... ALOT of stuff this month made think of Scrappy Doo...
First we had the Steven Universe Movie. You can't tell me that Spinel is an equivalent to Scrappy Doo.
Both bare a slight resemblence of the figure they look up the most, they came off fun and enjoyable but then viewed as being annoying later on... and pretty much left behind to the point they turn into baddies... the exception is that Spinel, as a villain, is played off more sympathetic and got a happy ending... Scrappy was played off being bad guy for hate's sake....
'
When Dirft Away played, it made me think of how Scrappy was sitting in waiting infront of the CN studio in that infamous bumper when he has a temper-meltdown with Cartoon-Cartoon stars. To me, the reason why Scrappy was there because when they "rebooted" the series with Pup Named Scooby Doo, they told him to wait until they work him in other projects... So he waited... maybe even still be waiting there...
There was also Ducktales reboot, where they reintroduce Bubba the Cave duck. In the orginal, he was consider to be like Scrappy, a new character/kid to help with ratings... but unlike how WB treats Scrappy, they actually poke fun of how "hip" he was with all the "cool kid" things he did, and even set him up with a big role in the McDuck family...
Yeah... none of that for Scrappy...
