This is a Golden Lion Tamarin and as the title says they are critically endangered or worse.
(my info is coming for the animal fact file book set thingy that is probably about 3 or 4 years old maybe?)
Anyway, this tiny species of monkey lives in the remnants of the Atlactic coastal forest in the state of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
This was an experiment in playing with my watercolours and new pencils so its naturally not a piece that i like. The colours dont match the species as well as i wanted them too but it doesnt bother me.
The sketch out was about an hour, paint maybe 4 (lots of drying time)
Mechanical pencil, watercolour paints, watercolour pencils, prismacolour pencils and salt XD on thickish paper 9 by 12 inch.
