Their feather is soft to the tough, but works much like a tail. It can stiffin and coil. The feather on the head can also be illuminated, allowing them to traverse dark areas for prey. It works much like an Angelfish. A beacon to attract those travelling the night without a guide... And then bam! Prey caught.
