As many of you know, the Lunar New Year is approaching, and 2010 marks the "Year of the Tiger". Logically, I'd figured that some of you 'fat furry' artists will be drawing expanded version of the striped cat - be it your own tiger 'fursona', or a familiar cartoon cat (like 'Tigger', 'Shere Khan', 'Hobbes', or even 'Tony the Tiger').
Well, as a departure from the norm, I've chosen a character who hasn't been seen on TV for several decades; namely, 'Ragland T. Tiger' (a.k.a. 'Rags'), the sidekick of animated hero 'Crusader Rabbit' (one of the very first made-for-TV cartoon shows). Most of you "FA" members, 45 and older, probably remember this forerunner to "Rocky & Bullwinkle" - which was co-created by Jay Ward and Jerry Fairbanks, in the late 1940s.
I'd decided to render the late 1950s full-color version of 'Rags' (as compared to the older black-and-white version), when both Jay and Jerry disassociated themselves from the newer episodes of the serialized cartoon.
As for fattening up the tiger, there's no debate on what he likes to eat. Just as 'Winnie the Pooh' loves his honey (er, hunny), and the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' love their pizza, 'Ragland T. Tiger' has a jones for jelly beans (as seen in a number of full-color episodes of "Crusader Rabbit"). So, I've made the big cat bigger with an endless supply of the Technicolor confection, in celebration of the Lunar New Year - and give new meaning to the salutation "Gung Hay FAT Choy!"

P.S. You can see both black-and-white and color episodes of "Crusader Rabbit" with 'Rags' (including two 'furry inflation' gags involving the tiger) on YouTube.

I enjoyed cartoon characters like 'Bullwinkle' and 'Rags' - who were strong with their muscles, but weak in the mind! (My favorite line from an old "Crusader Rabbit" episode was when our heroes encountered a hermit on a deserted island, and Rags said, "We happened to be morons." "Not morons," Crusader corrected him, and turned to the hermit. "He means we're marooned.")
I'm assuming you are referring to FOX-TV, who currently owns the rights to the animated series? A new animated version of "Crusader Rabbit" was intended for production back in the 1990s, but it never got past the planning stages. A pity, too; we could certainly use a pair of heroes like 'Rags' and 'Crusader' again (even if it only meant reanimating 'Arson' and 'Sterno' the two-headed dragon again)!
'Q.T. Hush' was a diminutive private eye, whose assistant is a talking dog named 'Shamus' (and both characters were voiced by Dallas McKinnon, who [sadly] passed away last year). Like "Crusader Rabbit", this was a serialized cartoon; but unlike "C.R.", "Q.T. Hush" was a five-part series, starting on Monday and ending on Friday.
The Inflation Nation first brought me to Rags while I searched through the index of characters having undergone inflation. Then, you rekindled my memory, not too long ago. I only saw one episode of the Technicolor show, and that was the episode with the mad scientist who wants every sound to stop so he can be at peace. If my memory serves right, Rags does indeed display an uber-fondness for jellybeans in that episode...or bubblegum. He is near constantly chewing on candy from a small, brown paper bag!
A pleasantly plump tiger makes all the difference in the world *pushes Rags onto his back and lays on him* for only a tiger full of jellybeans is fit to be my beanbag chair^^
Enjoyable work, Rob! You and you pens have the magic touch to fatten any happy feline, hehe.

Sorry for the delay in responding to you comment, Abby!
I'm glad you'd enjoyed the inflation of 'Rags' in full color in "InflatioNation". You'll equally like the black-and-white inflation of him in Episode 7 of "Crusader Rabbit and the Pirates", which you can see at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Voiv8a1vP4w
