Thanks! I referenced plenty of real images for the i-beams, I wanted to get it right!
Oh and as for Array modifier... I actually only used them for the rivets on the i-beams, then applied it and copied them onto the beam mesh.
As for the rest of it, it is actually a bunch of instances of each individual part (beams, connectors, etc) grouped into collections called units (unit.structure.corner, unit.structure.cross, etc) then I group-instanced them to put it all together.
Since you can't apply modifiers to group instances, I simply made a collection with rows of units, then instanced that. Turns out blender lets you instance on top of instance as much as you like, as far as I can tell.
I was even able to separate the upper parts of the structure from the lower by making a separate set of linked collections for the top and bottom, which is how I was able to make this image
