Between private commissions, I actually made a Warframe OC, of a Sentient faction from all possible choices. Who would have thought...?
==
NAME: Alicanto (= a bird from Chilean mythology)
FACTION: Sentient
GROUP: Eidolons
SPECIES: Hiasan Ropalolyst (Hiasan = "ornament/decoration" in Malay)
ORIGINAL ROLE: terraforming, pet, companion, guardian of an Orokin family before the Old War
***Taken away during the Old War, in fear she would turn against the Orokin as well, despite deep family attachment
***Spared from death by the begging of the Orokin child she's been guarding; instead forced into stasis in a secure enclosure on Lua
***Remained on Lua even after the enclosure barrier finally crumbled, many centuries after the old war ended
***"Programmed" to fulfill her terraforming mission, hoping that eventually meadows of lunar pitchers will cover the moon
***Observes the skies with a feeling of melancholy and nostalgia
***Neutral until provoked; mostly ignores anything happening on Lua... until someone steps on a lunar pitcher. God have mercy on their poor soul.
***There might have been more individuals of Hiasan species; current records unknown
***Half the size of the common Ropalolyst
***Sounds more melodic and gentle than the common species
***Like other Ropalolysts, prefers to walk on wingtips rather than on fragile feet that she uses like hands instead; feathers retracted when wingtip-walking
***Feathers and spikes make a soothing, jingling sound resembling metal wind chimes when touching against one another
***Feathers can be used as a slashing or piercing weapon, shot out of the wings to overwhelm the enemy; they regrow minutes after
***Feathers that fell off can be reforged into decent swords or melted down into liquid metal resembling gold

They are, their segmented forms and "hive" mentality, some names too, however because of their otherworldly weirdness, people interpret them in many ways. NGL even Aerolysts look so avian to me I can't see them as space bugs anymore... maybe there's a bit of a dragonfly in them but I can't help it but see a healer vulture from another dimension x'D
