Check out what I got in the mail today!
At long last, I finally got the testing equipment I needed to set up my electronics lab! (Now I just have to figure out where to set it up in my house ^^; )
On the far left, we got my Siglent SDS1104X-E Oscilloscope, the best, and most expensive component of the bunch. It's a 100MHz scope with four channels, and a ton of cool features! This bad boy ran me for $490
Then the small component on the top-right, we got a Koolertron 50MHz DDS Signal Generator, that can produce a wide variety of electric signals at various frequencies and amplitudes. It's actually a somewhat lower end device, but I think it will be more than enough for anything I might end up working on, and only costed me $130
Then under the signal generator, we have not one, not two, but THREE CZJUN-54-A Variable DC Power Supplies! They each have a voltage range of 0-30 Volts and 0-10 Amps, that of course could be adjusted to whatever levels you want. Now, originally I was just gonna buy one, as the cheaper models were running for around $70-$120. I looked at this guy, and it was going for $77.99, but then I noticed that Amazon was giving me a coupon for 80% off, dropping the price to about $15.60! I just couldn't pass up that deal, so I bought three! XD
This was great, because I was actually wanting a power supply with at least two outputs, but those models were all over $200, and this way, I got three outputs for only about $47! (although I'm sure the $200+ models have some other cool features, but I'll worry about that later ;) )
Oh yeah, and each device came with its own set of cables, leads and probes to be able to start testing without needing to buy more equipment. That would have seriously sucked if these didn't come with those cables. That would have easily been another few hundred dollars... O_o
All-in-all, this hurt my wallet quite a bit, but I might actually be able to start working on electronics projects again!
Of course, since I haven't even had access to any equipment like this for about 3.5 to 4 years, I'm gonna have to re-learn it all, so I won't likely be able to make any overly interesting projects any time soon. Perhaps I should look for some project kits to get my feet wet again, and hopefully help me re-familiarize myself with using this equipment, and maybe even learn new things about it! ;)
