Then i thank you for complimenting me on the choice of artist.
I can take little more credit than this since this was a "wing it" commission, where i left full liberty and judgement to the artist on what to draw and how to approach this.
Adalfyre usually never does anything mechanical, i wanted to see how she would approach this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I must say i like a lot how she rendered the metal and the varnish on Philo's body. Very few people tried to give her that metallic sheen. With the sad face and the awkward pose of embarrassment, Ada is the first artist that draws her like this. Most go for either sultry temptress or comedy/whimsical stuff. It's honestly refreshing, so i approve. Also for what i paid i did not expect to see so much of Philomela and in so much detail, so that too was very interesting.
If i have to find any defects in this image, honestly the only things i find weird are the wasp-like waist and the weird perspective on the wings.
Holding against Ada the use of "synthetic muscles" would be stupid, because while Philo is canonically completely mechanical and clockwork, Ada is not an artist known for mechanical designs and i did not expect her to reinvent herself for a cheap commission.
So, in general, it feels that what little shortcomings i see in the image are simply due to the artist deciding she had spent enough time on this given how little she had been paid.
And given that i received more than i had anticipated this still gave me great satisfaction.
That is indeed true and admirable. It allows Ada to produce a large amount of pictures at a reasonable price and keep them coming. This makes me respect the artist even more, honestly.
So, all in all, for what i paid i got a great piece of art, and i am very pleased of what i received and i thanked Ada profusely.

She's lock up.
Her gears have to rotate very fast and change direction immediately, so they have a very high shear resistance, but also it means that they are not very strong, for they have to also change direction of rotation on a dime while keeping the entire "spinning really fast" thing going on, so they have to be somewhat individually light and this whole thing means she is quite resistant, but also that would just lock her up.
Admittedly getting the nail off would probably require disconnecting the main spring and try to either reverse the rotation, or, (on the worst case), dismantling her.
same thing with clothing really, it would probably get easily snagged and lock her up.
In fact i already played that joke. Twice.

Relatively harmless... but annoying to undo.
All in all lightweight chainlink dresses might actually be better because even if they get snagged they might break easily and the broken piece might clatter a while inside before falling off somewhere. Slowing her down in the process, but nothing major.

She cannot wind herself https://www.furaffinity.net/view/38192167/
And before she gets her magic... it takes about 1 hour to wind her for 1 minute of operation.
After she gets her magic... she never requires winding.

Philophana's creation straight up happened without human hands, she never had a key. She gets created by Philomela via magic.
This comic page here is quite silly.

The dude seems to think she is some sort of automatic clock that gets powered by her own movements and proposes to her to make some form of patent out of that...
The fact is that she is ... very expansive and overly dramatic... and also cannot stay standing still, because of how her legs work... she basically always "has" to fidget around and her personality drives her to being overly expressive with her body.... because she has no face.
But the truth is that she cannot "patent" the way she works... because she is powered by magic.
