A pony whom makes getting along with her a great challenge, Whiplash is intensely mean spirited, seeing the worst in those around her whilst inflating her own self importance.

This is especially true of her daughter's Rosy Quartrz and Smoky Quartz of whom she expects nothing but the absolute best. The birth of twins was a great shock to her carefully balanced society and a feeling of shame followed. Though, soon she would grow to be proud instead, believing the duel birth as being a demonstration of her power.

A lover of competition herself, she encourages competition between her daughters, bestowing limited attention only on whichever of them manages to impress her. Once a dragon slayer and now a reserve soldier, Whiplash wears her scars with pride, often deferring back to those days of glory.

Now, she provides water for the citizens of her kingdom, an important task indeed, yet one that lacks the admiration that she so craves.

Another remnant of her past is her lingering distaste for dragons. Distrusting of the infants, she vehmently opposed Crikey's induction of them into society and decades later still refuses to work with them. Having her objections overidden was deeply aggravating, demonstrating the hostility she holds towards criticism and the desire she feels to be able to boss around her peers.
