At the head of the Castle Guards stands a pony with a seemingly endless reservoir of patience. Riptide looks upon the world with a resting expression of deep seriousness, creating a rather intimidating demeanour as she walks with her head held high.
To those that know her better, she is not always as serious as she looks, taking great enjoyment in sparring with her fellow guards, pushing them to greater heights of their potential.
There is certainly a ( perhaps justified ) arrogance that tends to follow her as she feels highly comfortable in her own tactical brilliance whilst diminishing the intelligence of others in her mind. Indeed, her mind is quick and she posesses a great awareness of her surroundings.
This arrogance was only increased when she beat out her rival High Noon to reach her current position. All the same, she retained a polite respect for the mare, even gifting her ownership of her dragon, Flare.
Respected and admired by her peers, it was of little surprise to anypony that she was blessed with the opportunity to bare a child. The offering was duly accepted, though, for as long as she was physically capable, she would remain at her post, resisting her body's need to rest.
Upon the birth of her foal named Bonny Bright, the new mother returned swiftly to work, quick to reastablish her authority. Riptide was never a doting mother, often treating her daughter much alike one of her guards, however, she retains high expectations of the young mare.
