I hate marth in smash bros, I made this and tried to make him look retarded, but I sadly failed and it turned out GREAT except the face so I had to share it. Used MS Paint.

Well Im sure hes a great character in FE, Ive never played it, but I mainly HATE him in brawl because he was always the punching bag for me and my friends in melee, and I mained Roy, and Roys not in brawl and Marth is, so I cant play as my main anymore and if I try playing as Marth instead I die easily because my timing is off because Ive played as Roy SOOOOO much. Wow, that comment is bigger than I meant for it to be. Sorry.
lol 'sokay. long comment was informational. I used Fox in the first smash but when he was slowed down and his jump was lowered in melee I went to Marth . I simply prefer his red-blue-green combos to roy's and liked his charge attck much more. But, yeah, I woulda like to see Roy in brawl... maybe nintendo thought there were too many physical similarities between him and Pit? Not unique enought but they wanted to include the angel?
I doubt it seeing as how Gannondorf is still a clone and Fox and falco as far as appearance goes are identical minus the face, hands and tail. And Ness and Lucas look a lot alike. I LOVED the mother series. Great games. ESPECIALLY Mother 3. I dunno, I just miss Roy. I mained Ness in the 64 version, but he was SO crappy in melee, and not much better in brawl. I main Lucas now, hes more like Ness WAS in the 64 version. I mean as far as playing as him feels. His moves are still way different.
thier attacks are very simialr visually but the damage given, direction of force, and speed of thier attacks differ. There's also the issue of stamina, weight, and manevurabiliyt. While I won't argue that they have glaring similarities, the differences in how they "feel" when played when you combine all these factors add up to very differeing styles of play due to limitations.
quick example: the split second decision to leap off a ledge to deliver the final blow. You have to consider whether or not your character can move fast enough, both on the ledge and through the air, to catch up to your opponent, has the power in an arieal attack to provide a finishing blow, and can still utilize the up-B attack to make it back to safety.
It may seem small and nuanced, but I think it really affects your strategies and gameplay more that one would actively think.
once again... this is just my opinnion. and wow...long post is long.

Yeah I get all that, but in the smash bros community whenever they have the same moveset, even with different weight and speed and strength they are still classified as a clone. I GREATLY understand the differences, because even though in Melee Roy was considered a Marth clone, they play SO incredibly different that I am AWESOME with Roy, but I cant play as Marth worth jack. Thats why I dont like Marth in brawl, Im use to Roys timing.
I had a partner like that once.
He was always link also... but he'd trade between link and young/toon link depending on whether I was Marth or feeling "Fox-y".
We were good enough to get accused of hax once and had to remind the guy that we were playing on *his* system! (though in retrospect I doubt making pong noises as we passed him back and forth didn't help our case =^.^=)
Then I had to go and move and break up the team. >_>

Yeah, its easier to just fly over everything. In some sonic games you can play as Amy and thats even worse than playing as Sonic, she doesnt turn into a ball when she jumps so you have to time when to push the attack button or she hurts herself when jumping on enemies.
