LOOKIT EDDIE'S LITTLE FACE.
He came to me all bitey too :V
Teaching obnoxious adolescent ferrets manners is fun, but I managed it with three. Eddie's been with me longer than my other two dudes and is a huge dopey loveeee. Like srs huge, he was neutered at around 6 months too xD
One of our clients found him in their garden when he was about half this size. No one claimed him, so I gladly obliged, had been looking for rescue ferts. The other two are littermates, from a rescue, a polecat called Grimme and an albino called Giz. But shit man ferrets are hard to photograph, they're so QUICKLIKE.

Luckily they were at that OMFG PLAY WITH EVERYTHING WITH MAH MOUF stage, but bitter apple spray + finger on the tongue when they chomped helped :V
I've always been confident with them, even if they're my first ferts.
I am still working on the younger two though xD
Eddie is a model citizen, you can flop him in the crook of your arm and he just goes limp/falls asleep.

I've just always been a weird animal kid, I've tamed crazy half feral rescue rats before too, their bites hurt more than the ferrets D: THEY SLICE. I have scars on my hands from crazy rats.
I did convert some of my coworkers over to liking ferrets with Eddie when I took him in for his neuter though :V They srsly can be taught tricks and stuff too. Youtube it, I'm teaching mine rollover for treats because I'm a dork.
Also he is soft and luscious, you must rub him all over your face.

Oh man, that's precious <3 I believe it- I've trained my rabbit how to sit up, come when he's called, and basic things like that. Small animals are underappreciated in terms of what good pets they can be. I would love to be able to rub a ferret all over my face XD I just... fear they would eat my face for it. But! If I knew they were nice! Then that would change the story.
MUCH PERSISTENCE, YOU HAVE TO MATCH THEM FOR SHEER WILL AND CUNNING but they tend to flop out after an hour hurr.
Or chemical warfare.... well bitter apple spray xD
Lots of toys is good, for directing them onto things they're allowed to bite as much as they like, they like biting :D

I dunno mangggg I'm in the UK, I've seen em around £35 in pet shops, but I don't see them too often either.
See if there are fert rescues near you though, that's probably your best option and you get to help a dooker out o:
Research the shit out of them though, they do have some important specific requirements, especially their diets. It'll cost more to buy a suitable cage (like a ferret nation or similar size: http://companionschoice.co.uk/Ferret_cages.htm. I have this cage: http://www.companionschoice.co.uk/p.....tails_692.htm) and the food I feed is about £35 for 7kg. (orijen for cats and kittens, goood shit, no grains and high meat content, it's CANADIAN.)
