Here's a glimpse at the early days of the series. This particular copy looks a bit beat-up. I hope that's not a bloodstain.
I think this is the last GYF book I'm gonna "find" for a while. :)
EDIT: This is now available as a PRINT! Get it from Inkbunny!

Yeah I'm aware of those! (For some reason I had a few of those when I was growing up) This one is more of a parody of kid horror books.
Here are more of them

unless there is some sort of huge misunderstanding going on. If that's going on then I'm sorry about that.

Yeah that comic is at least partly responsible for a bunch of my kinks. I read it when I was way too young to be seeing that stuff. XD

Dear Swatcher,
I love that painting! It's great how you made it look like an old choose your own adventure book. Brilliant. :)
As for Latex Blue, sorry about disappearing and all. :( Anyway, if you want the whole story, you can contact me and we can chat about it. But basically it just got so tedious and the story wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, and it just wasn't fun anymore. Around that time the person hosting my page disappeared for a while, so everything got off track with that too. It's wonderful how people show me these comments that pop up about LB from time to time and that it really touched some people.
Anyway, I've been getting back into art again recently, so here's a link to something I painted recently.

Wow! You learn something new everyday! I'd always wondered why Latex Blue just suddenly stopped. That comic was a good combination of bizarre and fascinating. Good to know youre still out there Dragonfly :O
This is why i always read thru the comments as often as possible, you just never know what youre gonna find out XD

Conversely, I remember this other comic where the fursuit possessed the person wearing it, so they'd immediately forget their true identity and actually think they were whoever the suit was supposed to depict. I'd think that would make it pretty hard to remove the suit, 'cause the person so afflicted would not believe they actually were in one!
Looking at this summary ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ma.....ery_(gamebook) ), I don't think that may have been the title.
Definitely my favourite of your CYOA mockup series - though perhaps that's a bit obvious and expected.
All the mockups are perfect. Font, art style, and especially the way those covers chipped, creased and otherwise exposed the white paper underneath the ink from years of abuse by tens if not hundreds of schoolkids checking them out from the library to read - CYOA was way cooler and more exciting than ordinary books.
(Though why didn't I find any of the transformational ones? Still, plenty of scifi ones...)

hehe well, fetish usually pertain to adding something to the phallus. In other words, a Fetish usually is a fixation on the enhancement of sex through various sensory additions. A clothing fetish, or what would be here, would be "having sex with or inside a living suit" though....sadly...the suits seem to not have the equipment to handle such a task :(
However, if you could elaborate how they add to the phallus through sensory additions, i would love to be enlightened ^.^

Are you talking about the Donald Winnicott transitional objects theory? Like all 20th century psychology, that has problems, and it gets really confusing when you talk about womens' fetishes.
You don't need to have sex in or with the fetishized objects, but you may need them for sexual arousal regardless.

well, usually a fetish, to be considered a fetish has a "sex with" component. pedophilia and zoophilia for example. I just don't understand "fetishes" that don't have any sexual aspect to them what so ever... i think that turns them into a simple "special interest" or "hobby" rather then a fetish.
Even other outfits like lycra and leather fetish, and especially rubber fetish, is usually about having sex in or masturbating within the outfit.

My dictionary defines a sexual fetish as arousal brought on by a situation, material or body part typically unassociated with sex.
I'm pretty sure if you get a boner at the idea of turning into an empty costume, it counts as a fetish before a hobby. A hobby would be like, collecting trains and not getting boners from them.

i disagree greatly with that definition. because that incorporates EVERYTHING. Including body reflex functions that cause physical arousal with no mental element just because something was touched (IE animal artificial insemination where they trank the large cat the electro stim it or some one pops an irritated pants boner like Dr. Tran).
I would assume there would be some deeper psychological obsession that would classify between a fetish and non fetish. Just because some one gets aroused by seeing a woman's brest doesn't mean they have a breast fetish. Just because some women get aroused by seeing a man's butt doesn't make it a butt fetish, and just because some one of the same gender enjoys the hair of another doesn't mean they have a hair erotica fetish. The definition lacks some necessary qualifier.
also by "situation" if you get married, and you love your spouse, and are excited for the honey moon, that means, by your definition, you must have a wedding fetish.
although the definition does explain the fortune cookie "in bed" thing...

I loved CYOA books; what probably primed me for furry was "You Are A Shark", which despite the title had you turning into all SORTS of animals, and even (in one possibility that led to what might be the only "good ending" in the book) a TREE. I always liked the fox pages, the baby bear pages, and the ending where you leave the temple richer for your experiences as animals and with a new friend in the monk, who gives you a sacred painting.
I gotta find a copy of that one somewhere.
The first CYOA book I read a lot of was "The Third Planet From Altair" and it had some SERIOUSLY nightmare-fuel illustrations.

Oh, just remembered two more potential-stories I liked from "You Are A Shark": The one where you could be an octopus in a jar, and the one where you retain much more of your mind than the other transformations, becoming a sled dog but using your human intelligence to connive your way to leader of the pack.
When they were first hitting the stores I used to get each one I made it a big thing to have the next # in the series did it for a long while. Just love the books for going back and forth on trying to read all the paths and figuring how they did it. Some books had chapters you can't get to normally no way to go there by page flipping.
Anyways awesome book and thanks for the memories.

the textures make me instantly think of Book World, the grungy little new/used/hobbyist/whatever book store in south Seattle with a gaming room in the back where Andy and I ran furry GURPS games (he Gmed, i just recruited players) for like 6 or seven years. From 1991 or so to about 1997. The store is no longer there, now it's a dollar store. >_<
I should blame CYOA books for so much of how I eneded up in the middle of this mess. ;)
I remember one where you fall into a river and wake up as a fish... another where you were in a mine shaft or a cave and ended up being a bat. Those were the ones I read over and over again... yeah, totally makes sense how I eneded up here now!

This is a classic! I love the grainy quality of it, it screams "I traded a pack of Pokémon cards for this book". Geez, really brings back the memories of these kinds of books. I remember the Give Yourself Goosebumps book where I got stuck in a lab and turned into a dog by a mad scientist. Ze' good ol' days. The thing I love most about this is in the print version of it. I love how the words "Fetishes" is mostly cut out and you can only see the last two letters. You can substitute anything there like, "Give Yourself Slushies".
