Level of difficulty; 1/5
=Ingredients==
•Bread (white, wholegrain or wholemeal)
•Eggs (1-2)
•Pinch of Salt (*& pepper to taste, white or black for the savoury version)
•Canola/vegetable cooking oil
+Fruit slices, Bacon, Maple Syrup, Cinnamon or Powder Sugar to garnish with!
=Recipe Instructions==
—Switch a roomy Frying Pan on to a low-medium heat with a bit of your cooking oil in it, cut as many bread slices as desired into halves & crack eggs into a small bowl (about 1 egg per 4-6 halved pieces)
—Beat eggs briskly with a pinch of Salt and a very small dash of water. (Add Pepper, any any other spices you might like also! Into a savoury version)
—Test the pans heat by dripping droplets of the beaten egg mix into the pan (I beat mine with a small fork, but droplets can also come from a whisk just as easy) ideal cooking temp may vary from cooktop to cooktop; always start low & heat up further only as required
—Once up to heat, when the droplets begin to crackle up straight away, dunk your bread halves into egg mix on both sides to coat, drip them for a moment or two, then place as many as will fit straight into the pan. (Try not to leave any slices in the egg mix to soak; this can make them heavy & fall apart.)
—Once cooked a light Golden Brown on one side, flip slices. (Should only be 1-2 minutes, if that, either side.) Once cooked both sides, set aside onto some papertowel to drain out any excess oil.
—Cut up any fruit (Apples, lemon-slices, tinned Peach slices are my go-to) to decorate (Bacon can be crisped in the pan alongside if desired also)
—Top with Cinnamon/Icing Sugar or Maple Syrup for extra fancyness to serve!
Enjoy!
