It's annoying, I know, but only plain text has that feature on FA and converting a story to PT completely throws off its formatting. Having to go try and reformat things in notebook is not a pleasant experience :(

If a story file is submitted in plain text format, then FA will open it and display the story on the site instead of just providing a download link. I thought this is what you were referring to. While it is true that I could put the story in the artist comment section, I really don't like doing that. There's no other reason, really. Having said that, I should get into the habit of posting excerpts in the artist section so people have a better idea of what they're going to read. For my more recently posted stories, I've also been putting brief notes on the story thumbnail to help people understand what they'll be reading about.
