Oh boy... where to start. First of all, this is a gift for
ganren It has been sitting on my to do list for far too long and I felt so shabby about it. I wanted to create something special for him. Something to express my friendship and gratitude for his year long support and for being my ultimate Silent Hill geek. I didn't plan to make this a comic page to beginn with, but as I said, I wanted it to be something special. The entire style and colouring ended up to be very experimental too (I used only red, black and white and tried to avoid smoosh brushes and gradient colours for the most part) and I confess I didn't really like it until about half it was done. Now I confess I am rather fond of it. ^^; It seems whenever I experiment with art and it includes the colour red, it turns out fine, even though it's one of my least favourite colours. Xo Makes me wonder...
Anymoo... in case it's not obvious (which I don't hope): This is tribute to the Silent Hill games. I transferred Ganren's character there and tried to add as many of his favourite aspects of the games as possible (yes, that's what's the quiz was for, buddy ;D ). The monster is my own creation. The fact that it's a pig (or four) has nothing to do with the swine flue, but has a rather personal relation to Ganren himself. He will know what it referrs to and that's the main point. Let's just say Silent Hill is no nightmarish place for nothing, mkay?
Ok ok... enough babelling. Ganren, I hope this turned out to be something you'll like...
Aaaand I stole the background texture from
khaosdog because it was spiffy. *g*
P.S. If you read through all this and reach this sentence you're a real trooper!
P.P.S. You can tell the personal importance of a picture according to the length of comments I write lately. XD

:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD! *glomp*
Bloodhound that is sheer awesome right there! I really love the setup of the comic which works well for a monster introduction/beginning setup of a silent hill story. I also really like the use of the monotone red colors, textures and the appearance/composition of the different panels for the comic (aligned beautifully for the story and in such a great comic book appearance too!). I felt you did really well on the crisp details of the broken city street and the automobile as well as the flow of the story from each panel leading the story along smoothly.
The monster is absolutely awesome too and I felt you did an amazing job on the creation/appearance of it which is very, very fitting for a silent hill monster. The design is creative and works really well for the meaning behind it.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT! <3

*beams* I am so so happy it turned out to be something you like and again I am sorry I made you wait so long. I am horrible in matters of time management. ^^ *g*
This was really an interesting experiment... I started with the small panel of your character turning the head and the eye close up and when they were done I really wasn't convinced of this entire thing. Then I worked on the first/ top panel and (after cheating a bit with the car) I started adding the fog and suddenly things didn't look thaaat bad anymore. With every new panel I started to like the project more and more, even though I the inking style is probably everything but consistant. Xp (i.e. your char is inked rather ... square, with a lot of edges, while the monster appears rounder and more smooth, also more detailed.) I was very afraid that in the end it would look like several random pieces puzzled together, that wouldn't make a neat whole at all...
*wobbles from left to right and back happily* Oh... since there is no original I can give you, all I can offer you is a high res printable file of this, if you wish? oo

You don’t have to feel sorry at all Bloodhound. This was kind of you to do this for me but not something owed or required. I do appreciate the gesture though and I’m honored that you would do something like this for me to begin with. *hug*
And why yes! I would like a high res version indeed! :V
