I play a bit of D&D, and one of the things I do sometimes during parts of game or in some off-time is doodle sketches of the characters I play. And well, I figured I'd scan a few and throw them online just in case anyone is curious about the terrible nerdery that is my weekend.
I apologize in advance that the next parts of this comment will likely be saturated with NERD.

Tik'Ti is one of the characters I'm currently playing in an Eberron game. She's a halfling barbarian from the Talenta Plains. One of the nice things in this game is our GM was kind enough to drop the racial mod penalties so I was able to start her off with the 18 STR. Also I am using a racial substitution that allows Tik'Ti to become classified as a medium-sized creature when she rages. Hence her great axe is actually a medium-sized creature great axe.
The outfit she's in is obviously not her adventuring gear. I drew her in a purdy gown for giggles. If anything I wanted to try drawing better muscles. Which considering I had no refs at the time, I think I didn't do too pisspoor.

Oh I meant to add, as a fan of athletic women, the amazon if you will, I think you did incredibly well with the muscles while still having the character appear feminine and attractive. That's really hard to do, and I've not seen a lot of artists pull it off.
...Now why did it have to be a halfling? Dang it. XD

Sadly with one of my groups, the games we are playing are pretty much the big 3.5 finale games. After they run their course, the group is making plans to switch over to 4E.
Course the particular game-set we are running is going to take a long while. We're only level 6 and we are going to end up around level 20+ by the end of it unless we all start dying like hotcakes.

While I'm not fully on board some of the new techniques and tactics, I have good faith in the group I am with in not turning it into a glorified board-game. We're the knuckleheads who have actually piddled away entire evening sessions just doofing around a city and not getting a single thing done to further the plot. XD
*shakes her head*
Why in the heavens would you try to shoehorn all the ability to RP back into a system not set up for it. Just play one that is. A good showing of this is the removal of pretty much every spell in the game, sans a handful of combat ones and a couple non-combat ones. 20 spells in total does not make a versatile Wizard.
*sighs softly*
The game is set up for fast paced combat and action, and there is nothing wrong with that kind of game. However I feel that is not really the way D&D should have ever gone. This is why everyone I play with has decided to ignore it and hope it goes away. We will stick with the d20 rules (3.0/3.5/Pathfinder).

A Halfing barbarian huh? Interesting idea. Tik'Ti looks awesome. I think you did a great job on her muscle tone. She came out very sexy. And I love her short spiky hair and the expression on her face.
Sigh, I have not been able to play D&D with my group for over a year because of my work schedule. At the time I was running a male Halfling Psionic Warrior under the 3.5 rules.

Sadly Tik'Ti's dinosaur Hinta just recently met an unfortunate end in the last session we were in. We were about to go up against a mindflayer so Tik'Ti had put Hinta into one of the other rooms to guard because she felt Hinta wouldn't last at all against the mindflayers mind-blast thingie. However during the fight, the mindflayer did a dimension door...and ended up in the same room with Hinta. Hinta managed to do a whole 2 points of damage but yeah...by the time our group got to that room, the flayer had done the effect that half the damage dealt to him would also do damage to Hinta and Tik'Ti had to choose between stopping this guy or holding back and giving him a chance to kill everyone.
We beat the mindflayer, but Hinta didn't survive. Tik'Ti basically had to kill her own dinosaur to stop him. As such, Tik'Ti hasn't had the heart to get a new dinosaur since.

Ahhh. Eberron. That was my favorite setting for 3.5 Cause everything was topsy turvy. From the Dragon Marks to the Lawful Good Red Dragons. To the the of course: Halfing barbarian. Best thing ever. Sorry to hear her Dino died, I know how close the Talenta halfings get to them. It's a shame my DnD group broke up cause now I'd really like to pick up the 4.0 Eberron books and start a new one. Your picture has inspired me Amber! And as always I love your art style. it's neat, cute, and awesome all at the same time. Great job and I hope the week doesn't go as bad as you think it might. also: NERDS ROCK!
