Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
Wewt this was a trade for
Abighaile I drew a previous idea but really didn't like it. I experimented like hell on this, and messed up more than I should have. But generally I like it, and I hope she does too :3

Lol theres speculation that the girl was modeled after Mary Hilton, but Lewis Carroll stated that Alice wasn't really based off a real child. And no I gave her Abighaile's hair cut, I don't like to stray away from chars actual hairdo's, might make the person it's for unhappy :)
But thank you, I based the picture alot off of the cartoon movie, cause off the top of my head I couldn't remember a lot from the book. Though I know generally it's the same thing. Though this won't be my last Wonderland themed pic :3

My name on deviantART and a few other places is Jabberwockyjones, heh. I'm Jabberwockdog on...I wanna say formspring but I don't use it much yet so I forget :P
It's like...my favorite poem ever. srs.
The coloring and incorporation of the poem itself, Alice in Wonderland elements,a ll of this. so pretty and graceful. Your coloring in the background is SO neat and I love her face and hair.

This is way late because of my involuntary FA hiatus, but WOAH. Did I ever tell you that I'm a total Alice in Wonderland geek? I love the imagery in the books, and Lewis Carroll just has this magic about his writing... I don't know how to explain it, but it draws me in. This picture is no different! I don't even know where to begin! Not only was I totally not expecting this, but look at all of that detail! Someone else already said that they love the face, but I have to second that TIMES TEN! Abighaile's face can be really hard to draw, and my simplified style doesn't really lend much as reference to more "realistic" pieces like this. This is exactly how I imagine her, though!!! Her hair, too...ohh, shiny and nice! And all that aside, the picture is downright _fun_!! It just fits in with Abi so well! I want to steal and hug that Cheshire, and the colorful background puts a huge smile on my face. :D This work must look *incredible* in real life if it looks so good scanned. THANK YOU!!!!!
