Oh wow! I wasn't sure where you were going with the preview picture, but this just works so well :)

I like the raised-arm, "mwahaha" stance, it's so Mad-Scientist :)

It's a pretty stock pose for mad scientists, y'know? I think it's pose #3 of 200+ cliche Mad Scientist poses.

NICE end result dude, way nice. Gotta lay down the airbrush a bit though.

In the technical aspect I have ZERO idea of what I'm doing. You'll need to define this "lay down the airbrush a bit", because that leaves me with my arms out to the side in a confused shrug going "Huh?".

Well let's see. Mainly the fact that either via directly using the airbrush tools or by blurring actual strokes to apply the bloomy light effect, the resulting blots of glow tend to clash with the more traditional looking, brush stroke style you use on the rest of the pic. Personally I don't think it works that well, but I say this merely as a peer sugestion for your consideration.

I think I know what you mean. That would be the result to my method of approach. On the technical side is to close my eyes and wave the stylus around a bit and see what happens.

Case in point, take a closer look at the way you applied glow over the goggles and consider if it doesn't tend to flatten out the volume, rather than actually bringing it up.

EVERY mad scientist must have a "Do Not Pull This" lever! It's almost as important as the "Do Not Push This" button! They're marked that way so that only I get to play with 'em. :3
