He was the first engine on the line. He is one of the strongest engines on the line. His little sister is the small pink tank engine, Jasmine. He's mainly given jobs like large freight trains and passenger trains. He is sometimes is given the job to pull the express. Nathan is the only engine on the line you suffers from aspergers and ADD. It's those disorders of his that make it hard for him to concentrate. He can become easily distracted, but he always gets whatever job he's given done. He also likes to tease his sister Jasmine. One of his best friends is Sabrina, the yellow tank engine. Nathan is also kind and caring, despite the fact that he likes to poke fun and some of the other engines. Almost all of the engines like him. Dev is probably the only engine who doesn't like Nathan. Then again, Dev is also a diesel who doesn't like steam engines period.
