Here's a collection of badges from last week with Furry Migration along with some from Megaplex and Eurofurence.
Did you know I gave a talk at Furry Migration about how I approach making badges? I shared my thoughts about what goes into a memorable piece of badge art and how to communicate the details about your character to the artist so that there's a good bit of visual information conveyed about not just the design but the also the personality of the character too.
Anyhow...
ElkiUnico asked me about revisiting a badge design that I'd done previously since I'd communicated some thoughts about how to approach the work better. Here's the end result with Unico harnessing the power of electricity!
Fluff had a fun arctic fox character and wanted to see him getting squished into the frame of a badge. He fits!
Caedmon wanted to see his character confident and smirking.
Seafood™ was a unique bit of brilliance: a shrimp character with the lower body in the form of a rocket engine and fins. And not only was the name "Seafood", but "Seafood™". There ya go!
AverageJoey wanted to see feet.
Boras is a fun fellow whom I've drawn a couple times now since meeting him at MFF last year and here he asked to get a badge made of his character. Done!
