Subject: Koi on lantern
Materia Artistica: freehanded brushpens and watercolours on a rice paper lantern

Notes: somehow they feel almost Dr Suess. but i like them and it sold so the other people liked it too. but they hardly are koi. but i was oversome with make lantern NOW and i had only some goldfish around to glance at. they lack the wiskers and such but i still love them as only a displaced Innsmouth person could! the major problem occured when making this i was only going to put a couple of koi on this and then someone told me that eight koi was very lucky. But because of the way some of them got put on and the spacing for the original five koi i ended up doing 16 koi to fill it in so it is double lucky. also i had to do so because one of the koi ended up upside down. i got distaracted (easy to do at Pennsic) and sat it down and it rolled over but someone put it back in position upside down. so i grabbed it up and just started on another koi and i looked around to see how the next should go on and WHAM i had afloater! so i started putting them on in every direction. besides i have fish that for whatever reason do these loop de loops for no apprent reason and they are upsidedown for a moment so thats what he is doing
