Back before the adventurous Marshadow that he is, Locke was a stubborn foolhardy troublemaker.
An orphan thanks to the Calamity that turned 2/3rds of the population feral, he was a wildchild with no manners wanting to become the strongest in the world; challenging the various heroes that came and went from his seaside village. Once, a group of them arrived, not even giving him the time of day, telling him that he needed to learn what it meant to wield power first.
The sky tore open one day, a giant spire landing on the neighboring hills. Warhorns belting out as this was an invasion from beyond, and Locke was excited! He could finally prove he was a warrior of legend! Heroes from all around were called to the front lines to stop the army, Locke coming to the battlefield late as the fight was already being taken to the top of the spire. As he passed the body-filled grounds to catch up, he was going over in his mind everything he'd learned observing the heroes... Halfway up the tower he was stopped by two enemies, it was a struggle but he dispatched them not with brute force, but with strategy. He felt something come over him, like he was going to evolve soon...
At the top of the bleak spire the remaining heroes gathered, tired and weak, facing down the giant armored warlord who seemed amused that this planet had put up such a fight. That's when the small Tyrogue burst on to the scene, standing in front of the huddled group of recovering warriors. They pleaded for Locke to back down, and the Warlord laughed, readying to slay him in one strike. Locke even egged him on, a plan already hatched. He was starting to know what heroism and strength meant; selfishness being replaced with the desire to protect others. The Warlord attacked with all his might and... Locke endured! Hanging on with almost nothing left the Tyrogue countered with Endeavor, shattering the massive enemy's armor, defenses, and health. The onlooking heroes couldn't believe it, the imposing warlord was now a single hit away from defeat; and he was furious! Before anyone could react, he struck Locke with his spear, flinging him off the side of the tower, his last thoughts before waking up as a ghost in the aftermath being 'It was fun saving the world, wish I could do it again'
