One of my coworkers is a Vietnam veteran actually and he tells me war stories from time to time. He already in the military so he never got drafted but he flew helicopters and one of his stories was about how his flight team saw and chased a soviet MIG in Cambodia. Both sides weren't supposed to be in Cambodian airspace so they both went their separate ways

He also told me stories about how you could do the cities and buy any kind of gun you wanted. There were just so many weapons flowing into the country at the time. Unfortunately he wasn't allowed to bring them home because their NFA here but he left them for the next flight crew to use

And also he had stories about TI's in basic training being easier on the recruits going active duty and being harder on the reservists

Enjoying the story thus far. I remember the war well. It was going on for most of my childhood, and friends had older brothers returning all the time. Surprisingly, more men volunteered than were drafted. I have several buddies that missed the draft by a few weeks to their relief, and more who served. Despite all this, the moon missions! Tge 60s and 70s were a unique time!

Yes. More men volunteered for Vietnam service than were drafted. This fact kind of resets the notion that only the poor were sent to war. I grew up in L.A. and remember the antiwar demonstrations, which very often got out of hand. Sadly, returning troops were often treated very poorly upon their return. Insult to injury.

when you finish the comic, you should get a physical print comic book printed (maybe make it look super 80s or something haha) i would definately buy one!
