This reminds me of Mayfly season back in my homeland! Strange little bugs. They emerge en mass for just a day or two. Their sheer numbers overwhelm any predators they may have and they flutter onto everything. They just stare at you, as if trying to comprehend your existence... then they die after only a day. They get all in your fur, they make the local waterways stink with their corpses, they flutter everywhere... Come to think of it, you might not like it.
