Thanks. I could have gone really to town with the glossy shiny stuff but I thought to be honest that if I did... I'd still be working on it. Forevah. And I actually just wanted to draw horns.

well you could add some scuffing to the high points of the scales to lend realistic abrasion to the surface
just an idea

I could do lots of things to the pic. Add reflections to the eyes, a proper fill light to add depth to the shaded areas, apply more detail to the scales, grain texture to the horns, reflected colour form the scales onto the horns, et cetera. But that assumes I want to keep going semi infinitely finding other things to tweak and alter.
The thing is I got as far as I wanted to go with that pic, which was all about the horns - the rest was incidental. I almost didn't even do the scales but I was in the mood to mess around.

Those horns look really good! The mix between the shiny and coarse surfaces makes a good contrast. Well worth your effort, dear...

Thanks... there's actually animals that do grow twisted horns like that, but I don't think they're that pronounced!
