My fursuit is (almost!) complete!
All that's missing are the leather paw pads and the clay claws for the handpaws, but I couldn't wait to take pics. lol xD
All and all, not a bad outcome for the first fursuit evar. With the experience we've had now, I think we will only improve with our design and be able to create something even more fantastic.
Things I dislike about the suit that are entirely my fault:
- Head size: I made it a bit larger than I'd have liked. Will shave it down further and shape it a touch better/use less foam next time around.
- Footpaws: They're padded along the sides and back, there was no need for that I now see and will not do that in the future.
- Eyes: I could have found some better materials, but it was the first suit I made and I was experimenting. Should be able to create something a bit better next time.
Credit for the body suit and handpaws goes to my talented seamstress mother.
Head and footpaws crafted by me.
And DAYUM! It's hot in thar! xD lol *dies of heat stroke*
See 'im at FC. It'll be his debut. ;3
Not bad for a first try, if I don't say so myself. lol, I'm fairly happy with the bugger. Can only get better from here. xD

I don't know much about fursuiting, but this is amazing, I always adore seeing fursuits and mascot suits because they always are much more difficult and require a lot of time and patience. I did read though that you were saying it was hot; I've heard of people putting fans in their suits, perhaps you would be interested in trying this link;

Apparently the site is very good as I had thoughts of creating a fur-gijinka (not full fursuit it's beyond my abilities currently).

Y'know, you'd be surprised, with a little knowledge of sewing and just some brief hot glue gun practice, this was totally easy. Just time consuming.
I'd say the DTD is the way to go for pattern though. We used a jumpsuit design that fit me pretty well, but to get the really form-fitting look it took a LOT of fitting, sewing, fitting, re-sewing. Would have saved a lot of time to just do the DTD. We'll be doing that next time around for my next project.
As for the suit being hot, I've got enough space in my snout to put a small fan in there, and I plan to. lol, The heat I can stand, but the non-circulation of new oxygens and constant production of carbon dioxide is killin' me. I need fresh oxy, and that's what the fan will be for. lol xD
But really man, you should give it a go. It's not THAT hard. And if you already have sewing experience (I'm the carver, sculptor and gluer, I ain't no sew-er. lol) then you're already halfway there! It's not HALF as difficult as it looks, I'm serious.

Really? That actually sounds really cool. I'd probably end up doing a character that's premade, like a pokemon or a digimon or something along those lines.
DTD? ^^; Sorry I don't really know that acronymn.
Ah, makes sense, thanks for sharing all the information you have given me... I'll have to really check into this if you say that it's not that hard. I've created cosplays for Dr. Franken Stein and Leeloo(as you know). Stein was mainly handsewing/altering and Leeloo was a mix of tacky-glue and handsewing.
^^ Hehe awesome. I'll look into it, you really cleared up my doubts. Much thanks~!! Only thing is I don't have a machine right now, something for the future.
