...there's still a little color.
---Indra, looking sufficiently emo. XD (Well, when all you have left of your dead girlfriend is a scarf she made for you...)
I just wanted to experiment with this one, and I haven't drawn Indra enough recently, so... X3 I love my Micron brush pen for how the hair turned out, but I hate my scanner for messing with the colorful scarf and the computer for not letting me darken just the black."

This is really something. I like the title, but I think I may be looking into the meaning of this peice a little too much. By any chance is this a reference to the intolerance of "color", which I percieve you mean sexual deviants, or those deviating from the norm or heterosexuality?
If it no more than what it looks like, then I like it for it's simplicity. The composition is good and it seems there is nothing wasted about this picture.
**also, check to see if using the "curves" or "levels" features in photoshop help to stress the darks and colors of the pic. sometimes, you can adjust these settings to show a little more *POW* in your colors and a deeper black in your darks. adjust them slowly, its easy to overdo it, and also use them in combination with the brightness/contrast settings in photoshop.

Thank you for the long comment! I always like those. XD
Anyway, yeah, this picture is definitely partly about that. Indra's girlfriend was killed by her father (an accident, but he did mean to do her harm) when he found out they were dating, so I'd say homosexuality vs. the heterosexual-focused world definitely enters into this.
Well, I was using Corel Paint Shop Pro XI when I was trying to mess around with the colors, and I was messing with those kinds of settings. But if I made the black stand out too much, the yellow would look really horrible. That's one advantage of digital art, I guess, you don't have to mess around with stupid scanners. XD

true, true...you certainly do end up missing digital art when it comes time to scan things in...that was for certain when I lost my tabby pen a while ago and have been doing traditional art since...even though everything is grayscale, I can never quite get the right values without degrading the quality of my lines or showing too much of the pencil strokes and whatnot...
BTW, you're very welcome!
