Part 2 - The Rundown


The next day Beelzebub had left early before B-man had woken up as planned, what she hadn’t planned on was Devidra visiting, One of Beelzebub’s personally guards greeted the elder goddess- Yes Lady Devidra, Lord Beelzebub left early this morning.. I do not know where..only that the Mortal is to be guarded with our lives.-B-man was heard from inside the bedroom- Yeah! and I can't go anywhere in the mansion either!

-Devidra laughed aloud as the doors opened, she couldn’t help but look at B-Man with a cruel smirk- Oh what to do, what to do ... should I order your release like a good merciful deity, or do I enjoy your suffering?-B-man crossed his arms-.. you won't do anything...-he shrugged slightly then turned back to some of the books and magazines he bought yesterday- Actually, I'd like a word -she looked to the guards- in private…

The Guards looked at one another then moved to the side to let Devidra in, Devidra stepped past them and entered the room the door closing behind her. B-man got up slowly while placing a cup of tea down onto a side table- Alone at last ... Beelzebub isn't here to protect you now.-B-man blinked then got up and started to move back slowly as she entered the room,-Now then, -she released her staff which stayed perfectly still- ... let me get a better look at you, the man who'd take my daughter's heart.

B-man stiffened that much more, he looked as if he hadn’t slept well, she could tell he might be a bit cranky- a better look at me? what makes you think I really took her heart? I mean.. it.. it could be just like Sky said a .. a er..a brief flirtation ya know -he stepped back slightly...clearly scared -with Sky? -she raised a brow, a smug look on his face- are you two ... how do they say? batting for the other team?

B-man then snapped at her - I'm talking about Lord Beelzebub and Myself!-he blinked remembering his place, she chuckled- Do not be afraid to raise your voice child, I have seen much more furious tempers and far deadlier ones ... -she paused and looked him over- Brandon Devlin ... I know everything about you, and even knowing what I do, I'll admit, I had not foreseen this, interesting. -He didn’t know what to say at that, a look of confusion started to form on his features- wait, what? but if you are a elder.. -he blinked clearly confused- not foreseen this? and.. everything about me?

I do not know the future Brandon, I am omnipresent and omnipotent, only my sister Time knows all of time every possible outcome to every situation, beyond your mortal comprehension, but never mind that, my daughter Beelzebub has taken a liking to you .... something in you has attracted her -she stepped forward, her eyes gazing into his- I'd like to know what.

B-Man blinked- but if you know anything about me? then why ask?-a frown started to form as he slightly narrowing his eyes at her, he wasn’t sure what she wanted to know - what did you want to know exactly?..or maybe it is something you might never know....-he muttered to himself, almost sounding as if he was rambling, which was expected given the situation he was in-..you two are a lot a like.. you hate not knowing something..

What my daughter see's in you. -she chuckled- Or maybe -her tone changed, she ran her thumbs through her robe and dropped it to the ground- ... maybe I just love a mystery, -she purred and stepped closer, B-man backed up that much more now bumping into his cot-... forget it... no way in hell ...-she purred- Why? I can offer you just as much as my daughter -she paused for a moment- perhaps even more.

B-man narrowed his eyes as he lost his patience, then the beginnings of his temper-.. you Deities...just to get what you want...and to torment others, is that the real idea here? sucker a mortal into something so that you can get "YOUR" way. -he seemed to come to a decision- I get it.. you all want me to be a target for the next bad guy? Or do I get another curse put on my body by a Elder.-B-man turned in anger and began to pack up his things, she chuckled and shook her head- ... stop packing, you'd upset Beelzebub, -she redressed herself but slowly, in a almost teasing fashion allowing all of her body to be seen before her clothing fully covered her form-

Your so bloody infuriating -Devidra glanced at B-man up and down- For your information B-Man an elder was not what cursed you, I'd have put a stop to it otherwise ... but more to the point, I see why you and Beelzebub are such a good match. B-man turned to look at Devidra, clearly having enough- Just tell me what you hell you want already, would you?-Devidra answered finally- You’re both so full of yourselves, as for information, earn my trust, my respect and then maybe I'll talk straight to you.

his brow twitched- You're pretty full of yourself as well... -Devidra smirked- But I'll give you this one for free ... what I want, is what anymore mother wants, I want to make sure the man whom has caught my daughter's eye is good enough for her, I will not accept anything or anyone but the best for her. And sadly thus far ... -she exhaled slowly- ... sadly you're actually shaping up.-B-man frowned- ...I'm not the best for her... nor anyone else...-his hands clenched into fists as he looked her straight in the eyes- I'm one of her weaknesses, look how I got attacked. She has to forget about me and move on already, she's immortal, she'll find someone else ...which I think is what you want..

Don't hurt yourself in thinking you know me, or how I think mortal. -she stepped up to him- And to me, no man will ever be good enough for her, not the Noblest of heroes, the mightiest God or the largest of Titan, but she has settled her eyes on you.-B-man didn't back down staring her down nose to nose- Don't worry it's just a temporary arrangement I assure you, she'll loose interesting me like those "others"...and I think you know that......then....-he tried not to choke up-..then your daughter will be alright again…-He turned away and made a b-line for the bathroom, she shook her head and disappeared-

Had she done the right thing with her methods? she felt an almost overwhelming guilt take hold of B-man for those brief seconds, then guilt mixed with sorrow, she shook her head, why must she feel sorry for one mortal when many more were suffering- ... Hmmph -B-man splashed cold water over his face over, and over, and over again trying to get his mind to focus-Damnit what the hell is wrong with me? why me?...what have I done to ....to deserve someone like her, she’s vibrant, full of life, she knows what she wants.. and yet I......and I Don't...

Meanwhile Sky blinked as he stepped into B-mans dojo, only to see Belle looking at the living room. Sky cleared his throat as he watched her react- Lord Beelzebub? I didn't expect you to be here.-Beelzebub blinked then stopped what she was about to do- I was ensuring this place was safe ... I notice no angels were here to ensure your friends safety.-Sky raised an eyebrow- I've been here..since I am technically B's guardian angel... even if he is far stronger than I am..

-Belle snorted- ... guardian angel -she scoffed- ... you're doing a damn fine job. -sarcasm dripped from her tone, Sky frowned slightly-...I'm surprised though... -he glanced around- why are you moving his furniture around? -he slightly smiled, while Beelzebub glared at him- If you don't quite your tongue my fist with spark your tiny little plums fledgling.-Sky frowned- beating up his best friend won't help matters... so what are you Really doing here Lord Beelzebub?...

Ensuring your friend isn't attacked -she glared at him, all the while repositioning the sofa- ... what are you doing here?-Sky shrugged slightly-To get a few things he might need, I had this dojo rebuilt for him after that fiasco in Heaven with Wolf.. -he moved past her then noticed more furniture-A woman's touch?... -he turned to her now curious-...at the risk of being knocked out M'lord...but are you ...moving in?..

Sky then stopped himself as he held his hands up- okay okay okay! I won't ask anymore! -he darted into B-mans bedroom to grab a few things from his friend, Belle growled deeply- Be lucky we are here Angel, were we elsewhere your flea ridden hide will have been ignited!-Sky stepped out with a travel bag-well...sorry I disturbed you -he moved past her once more to head from the front door, he blinked as Devidra came in in a shaft of energy-oh uh.. Hello Lady Devidra.

Good day, -she moved past Sky and looked at Belle- oh? ... moving in are we?-Sky glanced between Devidra and Beelzebub he could sense the hostility- um… I uhh.. I need to get these to B-man -he ran outside quickly, while Belle snarled- ... I'm merely improving the layout mother, you know I'm pragmatic.-Devidra nodded- True, true ... I'll give you that one, -she took sniff- however, is that coffee I smell brewing?-just then Beelzebub’s friend Bahompet or “Beth” called out from the kitchen- Ah yes come in Lady Devidra. It has been a while -she moved out from the dojos kitchen with a tray of cups, cream, sugar, and a pitcher full of fresh coffee-

Belle: Beth, don't encourage her -Beth stroked the tuft of hair on her goat chin- I beg your pardon, to what do we owe the pleasure M'lady?-Devidra smirked- Well at least I know there are some demons who know how to treat their Elders with respect.-Beth glanced at Belle for a moment as Devidra took the offered cup of coffee- I am still confused on this whole situation -she looked at Belle for a moment-

Ignore her Beth, she's in one of those moods. -Beelzebub growled and took her own cup, while Devidra lifted the cup to her lips- Can't a mother just have some fun?-Beth blinked-...oh no....-Beth placed the tray down on the coffee table- who is ... as they say in this century " the sucker " now?.-Belle growled as Devidra laughed while Belle answered the question- it would be the owner of this fine home.

Beth raised a brow putting two and two together- That mortal you told me about? I thought this was your holiday retreat? -Belle blushed beneath her black scales- ... I .... I lied.-Beth took a slow sip of coffee- So...you really have a thing for him hmm?..-Beth giggled all of a sudden-Or is he another play thing hm? -She giggled once more while taking a seat in a chair- I give him a couple of days before you get bored with him.-Belle growled deeply, her eyes turning a deeper red- ... you .... you're wrong!

Beth blinked-..You ... You can't be serious Beel, a Mortal? The last time you got serious was well..-Beelzebub spoke softly-... you -Then she grumbled- ... and look how well that turned out. -Beth let off a sigh-...so...what is so special about him?..-Beelzebub didn't look either of them in the eye-.Neither of you would understand, -Beth tried to speak encouragingly - You know i've always had your back Beelzebub...just tell us-Beelzebub let off a sigh and spoke what was in her heart -... I like him, I'm not sure I can explain it any better than that.

-Beth gulped down the last of her coffee-.Well... If that's good enough for you, it's good enough for me -Beth couldn't help but troll Devidra-...is our Elder jealous of this maybe?-Beelzebub broke in before her mother could answer- At least you're encouraging, unlike someone! -she glared at Devidra then she glanced at Beth then smirked at mother- ... you have a fair point Beth, mother as long as I've known you you've never had a man to bed, nor a woman. Maybe you are jealous.

-Devidra took a little sip of her coffee- I could bed any man, woman or other I wish.-Beth then # on Belle, you go down and see him... and really talk with him...without being interrupted -she shot a glance at Devidra then back to Belle- if that is at all possible, if he really is the best thing since you became Satan. -Belle sighed- ... alright, alright I'll go talk to him, -she gulped down the coffee- thank you Beth. -she vanished into flames while Beth turned to Decidra- Now. about the rest of his coffee....

B-man jumped in surprise as she burst into the room through hell flames, which startled him enough to trip over a night stand- OUF! -Belle tilted her head at him curiously- You alright there?-B-man replied as he got up - Uh... y.. yeah you just startled me.. -he got up slowly then adjusted his t-shirt- so eventful day on your end?... I just.. had a visit from your mother... -he scratched the back of his head slightly, at the mention of her mother Belle clenched her fists tightly, causing them to crack- ... Oh really?

He nodded some but let off a sigh-.. yeah.. and I was scared like you wouldn't believe...wish I had a mother who cared that much...-he looked up at her-...yeah I know some are a pain but...I guess she really just wants you to be happy...despite coming off... all.. well.. -he shivered slightly- trying to tempt me -her right eye twitched- tempt you? -he nodded slowly-...it was...pretty lame if you ask me..-B-man shrugged and went to the bathroom-.

-Beelzebub meanwhile closed the door behind herself and sealed it with magic then turned to him then raised a scaled brow- Brandon?-B-man blinked as he heard the door click shut, as he moved out of the bathroom , she looked at him curiously- you look pale ... is everything alright?-B-man sighed then built up some courage- it just.really makes me wonder...am I really ...are “we” really doing the best thing with trying to make this work?...I mean your mother.-she waved her hand at him dismissively- Ignore my mother ... she's an old woman even by my standards.

B-man walked over to the window slowly wondering what to say next but the decorations outside took his attention-.Your people are getting ready for that celebration of yours huh? another year as the ruler -she waved her hand a little- Actually another hundred years -He nodded slightly-..well then... here's to another hundred I suppose. -she smiled- thank you.-suddenly she frowned- It is actually alarming how fast time goes here.

-B-man nodded slowly know what she men’t - So where have you been this morning? training again I gather? -She shrugged it off- uh ... it's of no matter where I was, -she straightened her head- just that it was of deepest importance, I won't bore you with the details-Belle would notice the duffle bag...Sky had beaten her to the punch...had the neko said anything?- Just the usual... Duties of being Satan?

-She nodded her head- You could say that ... -she exhaled and stepped over to a window and gazed out, her hands clasped behind her back- ... tell me Brandon, in your honesty, how could you imagine a future with me? Knowing what I am, who I am, while I look like this. My visage has sent mortal men running and screaming in terror in decades gone past, how is it, you are unafraid?

...well...-he rose up slowly to stand by her-..this is more of a "job" isn't it?. -he gestured around him slightly-.You earned this Satan position didn't you? just like the prime minister of Canada, you have to do "things" in accordance with the role...Even if you don't like them, right? In a way I just see you as a woman doing a job...I might not agree with the "job" but it has to be done right?.

It does ... but many do not see it that way ... during my brief times on Earth where I have been summoned, men have tried to rape me, kill me, to purge the world of my sin, my existence in the name of God.-B-man blinked - wait, isn't your "brother" god?..-She didn't turn to look at him- technically speaking.-B-man nodded slightly- well I will admit, when I first met you I was terrified, I still am but for other reasons..

-Beelzebub trailed off then- but then who would know nor care? Christians and holy men would sooner burn me with "holy fire" than listen to me.-she finally turned to him and raised a brow at his latter comment- Oh?-B-man sat down on the window ledge once, his left hand covering his mouth slightly-...well not your form, or your power -he ran his hand along his upper and lower lip slightly-...just hurting you..well...no...getting hurt again is what I am terrified about -She smiled- ... it's funny, no matter how many wounds people see on the outside, it's the scars on the inside that hurt the most.

I guess when it comes to the "looks" it doesn't affect me too much since I fought Wolf and many of his demon army while in Heaven -she chuckled- your first interaction with the supernatural seems to have thrown you straight into the deep end. Most mortals are spooked by simple ghosts and poltergeists.-B-man huffed- well when one gives you a scar on your chest down almost to the bone it leaves a lasting impression...I still remember the look on your men's faces when I told them I didn’t know about you…” what? you Have never heard of Lord Beelzebub??"

-She blushed a little- I wasn't in the best of moods then..-B-man nodded slightly remembering the fight with Xavier - well when a mortal comes down to Hell, and you believe he killed one of your own...-Belle shook her head - hmmm, not just that ... there was more going on then than you know-B-man sighed- when this is over it will be good to go back to my dojo again...no offence..it's just strange surroundings and all make it a bit tough to sleep..

I understand, -she turned towards him- Tell me. What's your take on all that is happening? -B-man blinked- my take?...well...if it is Jack and he is regrouping..-he got back up and started to pace- I guess I would be a logical target, I mean I did beat him, took out his generals.. or made them turn or whatever. also if...if I do mean more to you then it would be a serious emotional blow to you wouldn't it?

Belle nodded- ... do you think we can beat the Arch Demon once more?he's tough, all the times we've fought him.-B-man shrugged- well...you'd have a better chance than I would. it takes me way longer to heal up than your type of being -she exhaled and gazed outside- I fear there is more to this than we realize.-B-man moved to her side- another faction or something?-Belle continued to glare outside- I do not know …-B-man shook his head- and if they can break into Hell or Heaven without anyone knowing on a normal basis.....Lock Down...Which means a mortal like myself Can't be here..-he glanced over to Belle slowly- like you did before..-Belle’s next comment confused B-man- that would show weakness, I am not afraid of anything ...-he blinked repeating what she had just said- show weakness?

It would show that I am afraid of what we are dealing with, I cannot show weakness to my subjects.-B-man questioned her seriously- but wouldn’t I the weakness? -She blinked and stared at him- I .... no. -B-man moved up to her, nose to snout-.Are you really sure about that M'Lord? this is a war that might spark up again

-Belle continued - It is not war ... not yet, I will ensure your safety, I will remain strong, to my people, to my enemies, to..-She hesitated-. to you-B-man wasn’t sure how to respond for a moment- Well I'm not sure if that would be a good Idea -he was cut off as there was a banging at the door, one of her generals spoke- { M'Lord? we have another report}- B-man glanced at the door-..you'd umm better get that

Stay here where it's safe, -she ordered him before walking to the door and opened it, she spoke to her General- {Report}-The General was frowning- {we have news...heaven was attacked by one of the same beings that attacked the mortal yesterday. Lady Devidra, and your "brother" are going to be here shortly to discuss tactics}

With a look of concern B-Man asked-.. something wrong?-she turns to him- It would seem the situation is more dire than we first realized.-in minutes they were in a meeting room, the three brothers were there to guard “God” or for those in the know Yahweh, along with Belles bodyguards as well, Belle let off a growl as she spoke- ... surprised to see you here ... -she glared at him

Yahweh frowned- Likewise...but we have bigger problems...it was an infiltration ...-Belle frowned- So I've heard ... I thought demons couldn't breech the gates.-Yahweh continued- I think the mortal being attacked here was just the tip of the iceberg for who ever, I don’t believe It was a demon...not fully...-she narrowed her eyes at him- Explain. -Yahweh shrugged- we aren't sure ourselves.. it killed itself before we could get more answers but it knew where to go and how to get around...needless to say we believe it is an inside job, whomever it might be doing this has inside knowledge

How so? You are The Lord you can detect any sin in a soul, what did the creature take?-Yahweh began to unfold his robes to remove a roughly octagonal shaped mirror roughly a foot in diameter - Information on myself, you ,your mortal toy, Oggstrosse as well, along with locations on where we would be and one last thing. -he placed a mirror on the table- An rarely known type of magic that works only on immortals. Much like the Mystic waters used to rejuvenate injured mortals. this one is for immortals...

Beelzebub glared at him- First off: Brandon is not my toy, second, I thought all records of the Arch Demon were destroyed ... and 3 tell me more of this magic, and what makes it so relevant to steal. -Yahweh glanced over to Devidra-It was before your time Beelzebub..during the great war...-Belle looked to Devidra - Which great war?... last I checked there have been several.

Devidra answered- the first great war between Heaven and Hell, during the early days, Before the Oggstrossian war, a war that lasted ... well, it lasted far too long -B-man looked into the room slightly then partially stepped in-..sorry I couldn't help but overhear all of you.-Belle and several others looked back as the door opened- Come in Brandon.-Then she glared at her brother whom looked ready to argue as B-man walked in slowly-...is it about Jack? or something worse?.

Belle then narrowed her eyes- Whom was the God of that time?-Devidra answered- Yahweh, the father of Christ, your older brother.-The conversation continued when B-man finally spoke up-who was the Devil at the time?..-all eyes turned to him it was Beelzebub who answered- Lucifer, the first Arch Angel, the first fallen angel.

-B-man questioned again- well... do you guys know where that "Satan" is now a days? -Beelzebub thought for a moment remembering what she had learned- Legend has it during the final battle of the great war the Fallen One did battle with the Darkness, depending on the translation, the Fallen One was either slain, defeated, or defeated then imprisoned, not unlike Oggstrosse himself.

-B-man drew up the ultimate conclusion- So are you all sure it isn't that guy? if it isn't Oggstrosse I mean, you said it yourself he was an angel and not much has changed since then right? and even Hell until recently when we fought Oggstrosse. -Belle and Yahweh seemed to blink slowly, then their eyes opened wide- Lucifer ...-Yahweh seemed to pale-: ...We didn't change anything for years until now....-Beelzebub turned towards Devidra- Could it be?-Sky who had stayed silent the whole time then commented- sounds like we had a serious Leak in both realms..

Yahweh turned to his angels - Let's get back to Heaven now, we need to do some more digging and see what has been taken…-Beelzebub crossed her arms- Very well.-Sky meanwhile walked up to B-man and whispered- so uh B, did your “Girlfriend” tell ya what she's been up to?-B-Man blinked- what do you mean?-before Sky could say anything he saw Beelzebub coming their way- uh oh, here she comes. see ya B! -Sky scooted off as Yahweh and the other angels left-

Beelzebub exhaled fire in Sky's direction- I don't know how you can stand that infernal fleabag.-B-man blinked- don't get so worked up over him, it's the feline in him.-she snarled- Maybe I should add mangy cat to my menu-B-man chuckled- you get used to it, but when it counts he has always been there....-his shoulders slumped a bit remembering what happened to Sky a few years back then looked back to the door-.. sorry I walked in I know I was supposed to stay put, I'll leave you to your briefing

no no, you're always welcome, I can barely stand my brother, he is as you mortals say these days a "kiss-ass"-B-man chuckled some then blinked as the General spoke up- {we shall leave you two M'lord...as ...we can see your mind is focused elsewhere...I shall handle the arrangements}-B-man blinked wondering if he had said something wrong as Belle continued to give orders-{It is imperative the mortal is protected, do not forget that! They are targeting him for some reason, and if it is the Fallen One from Legend, then we are in grave danger!}

{ Yes M'lord!} -demons saluted and left the meeting room, Beelzebub then turned to B-Man- If we are dealing with Lucifer, I don't know if I can protect you -She glanced back making sure they were alone before admitting- Brandon, I'm scared.-B-man blinked then turned to her in surprise-...r..really?I mean,are you sure he is even that strong ? your brother did say about that magic or what ever.you gave Oggstrosse a run for his money, if it wasn't him them setting off that .-he paused and remained silent for a long moment realizing he was rambling- Sorry...

Our past encounters with the Arch Demon aside, I know nearly nothing of Lucifer, I knew nearly nothing of Oggstrosse, Many thought him to be legend.-B-man walked over to her slowly, he didn't notice Belle put the locking spell up again- Guess you should get back to training huh?..-Beelzebub sighed as if in defeat- I don't know what to do Brandon -B-man tried to bolster her emotionally-I am sure you will figure it out...-she frowned- ... damn it all, -she all but collapsed to the floor, her back slumped against the wall- Why must everything grow so complicated so quickly?

B-man moved to her side, then held a hand out-..you shouldn't sit on the floor..-he smiled a bit- it would get that nice uniform of yours all wrinkled-she snorted- this uniform is meant to be damaged ... I don't have any nice clothes, I've never needed them. -B-man nodded slightly- Well, maybe you should change that?...if....-he blushed a bit- if we are going to be dating. -She felt her cheeks grow warmer than usual- I uh ... suppose you are correct. I shall call for a tailor.

Well, at least you have some variety in your closet ... what you see on me is all I have really.. apart from a few jackets.-Belle contemplated the subject a bit more- I have my uniform, and several copies.-B-man smiled adding in- You do look good in it..-But the next comment from her took him by surprise- Rarely does a demon need anything else, if you were to venture out into the city most demons walk about nude.-B-man froze in place as his smile faded and his eyes widened- n..nude? as in.. totally naked?..

-Beelzebub nodded unphased of course- Yes, why would we need clothing?-B-man replied as she wrapped his head around the situation at hand- oh.. right... not...never mind -he shrugged some- a mortal talking...-she smiled as B-man nodded slightly-...well umm...what shall we do for dinner tonight?...maybe I should make you that steak you had before? I know it was a rush job but.. I thought you liked it, considering you ate everything in almost one shot..

Belle nodded- I was particularly hungry that day ... I wouldn't mind another steak, it was very nice.-He nodded then blinked realizing something- oh man, I should really go back to my dojo quickly to make sure I throw some of the food out, some things will have started to rot by now -Beelzebub winced internally-Uh, yes of course ... you do that -she nodded- would you like me to accompany you? ... -she wouldn't tell him she'd eaten most of the food in his fridge-...now... will you get up off the floor? -he offered his hand to her once more-... sulking isn't going to solve anything right?..-she nodded- Alright, alright. -she rose up from the floor, using him as aid-I am under your guard right?...

Only a few minutes later they were back at B-mans home, Sky glanced over at Belle for a moment as she had smacked him upside the head with her tail tip- Ouf!, Uh Yeah B I made sure to clear the fridge up for you! -Belle subconsciously ran her tongue across her teeth then smacked Sky once more, B-man narrowed his eyes and looked at the two wearily as Beelzebub started to ask Sky something-Why are ... -she glanced to B-man- never mind ...

B-Man glanced at the two then thought better of it- uhh... right.. thanks Sky... -Sky nodded then glanced over to Beelzebub then back to his friend- well uhh... I'll come and check on you later... have a pleasant evening..-Sky left in a shaft of energy, B-man shook his head slightly - Wonder what got into him..-Belle then commented-: I think I scare him, - she grinned widely showing her large teeth, B-man gulped nervously- uh right...I'll just prepare a few things...I suppose your chef would let me use your kitchen?I hope they wouldn't mind ..

I can make it an order if necessary, but honestly, I think they'd enjoy the break.-He chuckled a bit- I thought you'd want something different once and awhile... -he turned back to the kitchen then paused- wait a minute.. -he poked his head out of the doorway-..
