There's some hinting of Amy crushing on Blaze in non-main game stuff (hearts in an official comic as she watches Blaze barbecue). I get the feeling they realized Amy's hostility towards her was a bad look and comic writers and the Olympics Games animators were told to have them get along better and they that order with a twinkle in their eyes.
