My Little Tyrannosaurus Squeaks
This is my recreation of the first stuffed animal I ever snuggled up with. It was a Dino-Roar from Fisher-Price. The given name was Rex the Tyrannosaurus Rex, but I didn't know that was the name until I saw it on the back of a box. In fact, it barely resembled a T-Rex at all. It looked like it was squatting, and some body features were rather shortchanged in the final result. I called it my Baby Dragon, especially when it came to its well-known roar, which sounded to me like a weird squeal, similar to what an infant reptile would make. Then again, this toy was for very young children, so it makes sense that they didn't want the roar to scare them. This video shows what these happy roars really sound like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHt3c2P7XJ8 The way it was designed just adds to this logic. I also thought that the pink eyes gave it a rather feminine look, hence why I referred to her with female pronouns.
This toy was particularly infamous for looking like Barney, to the point where the famous company was sued for it. They had to do all the toys in a different color scheme, but the damage was done. It only lasted two or three years. That said, I preffer this toy over Barney, since Barney comes across as annoying and creepy.
