It was early morning. The Smeargle was busy setting up a painting, getting everything ready for the contest that would occur during the evening's event.
"A little more to the left maybe? Or perhaps to the right...?", said the Smeargle to himself, making a frame with his digits.
"No... definitely not hanged evenly. A small rotation to the left will do the trick~"
As he moved closer to do so, a friendly voice echoed from across the hall.
"Oh-- good morning Smeargle! Here so early?", the larger 'mon inquired, a Braixen, well dressed with a fancy necklace. She was the owner of the place, financing the event that would occur later.
The Smeargle jolted in surprise with a gasp, his paw moving to his chest as he slowly turned around, shuddering from the unexpected voice and presence. "M-Madam! P-please... I've asked you several times to approach me more silently when I'm working-- I easily scare when distracted.."
The Braixen laughs, a paw raising to her maw as she does so, making her way from across the hall, closer to the other 'mon.
"Hahaha.... sorry, sorry, I always forget how deep in thought and focused you get when you're dealing with art-- that's not a bad thing however, and that's one of your qualities, I'd say.", She compliments in an approving tone.
"T-thank you, M-Madam..." Would be all the Smeargle would be able to utter, his cheeks growing a cute red. After taking a few seconds to recover, he gets back into artist mode, clearing his throat as he speaks.
"J-just this painting more and everything will be ready for the Suave male contest later. S-still have to prepare the finer details and ensure everything is in order, and I prefer to get it all ready now to ensure all is perfect."
"That's yet another good quality of yours, Smeargle. Let's see...", She says in a low tone, her gaze shifting to the painting in question.
"My oh my! T-this... who's this? I don't remember seeing him during your painting sessions--he's one of the strongest contenders for sure, alongside that dashing Ninetales and pretty Sylveon. T-that Ninetales was such a charmer..."
Her cheeks would flush a slight pink, remembering the words and charm of that 'tales, as that flush turns into a warmer shade as she realizes she lost her composure at the thought of meeting with him later, clearing her throat."A-as I was saying, who's this pretty Absol?"
The Smeargle would have a slight grin on this face, as he had seen them both together at the poke café several times, so though he knew about it, it was always amusing to see Madam lose her composure when it came to the 'Tales.
"I met him at the city park during the night. I was going on my stroll as I tend to, and when I was arriving at my usual stargazing spot, there he was. We spoke about a lot of things, and one thing led the other and he agreed to participate in the event... in fact, it was more like he really wanted to. The painting was made during one of our meetings there, so that's why you didn't see him. He's definitely a very lovely Absol though, and he'll be present as well later."
"Oh he will, will he? That's splendid! That means all the contenders will be present. I-- oh my! I almost forgot, I'm... meeting with someone in a little bit, I have to hurry. Carry on Smeargle, I'll be back after lunch."
The Smeargle grinned again. "Yes Madam, enjoy yourself~", He said, but she had already turned around, hurriedly making her away across the hall, leaving him to finish his work on the last frame.
As the Braixen was about to leave, she whispers to herself,"This year's Sauve male contest might just be the best one yet.~"A-a-aaaaaahh.... tee-hee, this was a wonderful gift I got from

I've been wanting to get a picture like this for ages now since I've had the idea of a Sauve male contest in my head, similar to the fluff contest a few pictures back, so when I got this gift last year I just blushed a lot x/3
Reason I took so long to upload it was because I wanted to write something along to go with it, but motivation is haaaaaard, huff.
I hope you enjoy that little silly story <3 The characters themselves are no one in particular, just a spur of the moment kind of idea.
I still have quite a few pics to go through to upload.. but I hope you enjoy this one, because I surely did a lot
