Living Nightmare is the current name for the creatures who've been around for centuries. They sneak into people's homes and hide in the shadows, waiting for night to fall so they can invade dreams and turn them into nightmares. Sometimes they don't even bother waiting. Remember that nightmare that felt all too real, with nothing out of place? ...it was real. It just left you alone afterward. Maybe even carried you to bed itself so you thought it was all a bad dream. Then it could stay and continue its torment...
Living Nightmares feed on the fear of mortals. It's all they really know; though they are far from the horrible, savage beasts they used to be, few develop any sort of moral dilemma from their frightening way of life. A good thing too, for a starving Nightmare may lose its mind and result to more... traditional means of feeding on fear.
Their appearance varies; they either chose their form based on their own preferences or play to the fear of their victims. They change often enough, none of them can remember what they originally looked like. Nightmares can even appear human... sometimes...

Rozhliin is a Living Nightmare. She's survived for centuries, but like all Nightmares, she lives her life in solitude... until a human mistakes her for a new resident at the apartment complex she decides to haunt... What little human interaction she receives Rozhliin realizes... she might like it...
