Transferred from my other archive, I felt this would have a better home here. 

This was an idea I had for a MLP:FiM character. We never get to see Applejack and Big Mac's mom or dad, they both seem to be raised by their Grandma. I wondered if there was a Grandpa Smith. So I made one.

Apple Cider was part of a wild Herd gang as a colt. He ran with Hay's Angels, and they stampeded across the country, causing trouble and occasionally working security. The toughest of them all was Apple Cider. They rolled into Ponyville back in the day, and Apple Cider fell head over hooves for the young Granny Smith (Probably called something else before she became a grandma. The best I heard was Green Delicious). They fell in love, and together, they refurbished Granny's farm, which had fallen on hard times.

Ever since, Cider has been working the land like an honest pony, and occasionally hitting to the road with his herd, which he now leads. He also competes professionally for money in Tractor Pulls. In other words, they hitch him to a tractor and they see who can till the most land fastest. He's pretty good at it. Once more championship and he's going to get his old lady that brand new hip.
