Yeah, I find the concept quite interesting...

Open fusion core, kept together and burning by some clever field weaving around it, most likely directly embedded in the remainder of the ring. The plate in the lower right can be maneauvered (sp?) up, down and around between the inner diameter of the station and the core to produce rudimentary day/night cycles and/or vary the efficiency of core harvest. Diameter of the whole station estimated on the scale of about ~100km.
