For quite a while now 
wolf-nymph and I have been working on a huge sculpting and casting project we call Wild Moon Designs. The first sculptures are now done and ready to be cast! For these first sculptures, each of us chose an animal manipulating magic of some sort- mine happens to be a lynx casting a fiery claw swipe :3

This one is about 7.5" tall. It will be casted in a fiery clear orange, and be primed for painting. They are cast by wolf-nymph and I, and are the first in a line of fantasy and wildlife sculptures. Since FC 2010 is coming around the corner quickly, right now we do not have sample painted casts, but keep your eyes peeled for the sample paints in the future! Also, all cast pre-orders will come with $10 worth of extra merchandise (prints, stickers, bookmarks, etc), and each pre-order will go to covering the start-up costs of this project. Production of casts will begin in spring, when the weather warms up. We need a room temperature, well ventilated area to cast, and in this weather we can't do it outside. We also need to get an idea of how much resin to buy based off pre-order numbers.

For sculpting I like to use Super Sculpey, it works really well for holding detail. Plus, you can keep working until you're ready to bake :3 Recently I've tried Sculpey Firm mixed with super sculpey, it seems to work well for detail too. As for casting, we're using a pour on silicone rubber from Smooth-on to make the molds, and we'll be using a clear resin for the actual casts.
