Now in color. :) L'noel as a cub but don't worry about the Tribble since the phaser is only a toy. Um.... But the Tribble doesn't know that.

L'noel does not have any stories about him just yet. He does frequently get into a bit of sibling rivalry with his sister K'ress. L'noel also was born on Earth and not planet Cait and so his upbringing as a Caitian is somewhat unique. Here he is simply visiting his parent at work on board a science vessel that has been functioning as a platform for the study of alien life forms. Believe it or not, Tribbles are somewhat rare after having been slaughtered and systematically exterminated by the Klingons and in fact were wiped from their homeworld. But fear not, after a time traveling adventure they have returned to station Deep Space 9 where they have been removed and in some cases smuggled off the starbase. Given proper controls, Tribbles are harmless but do pose significant environmental risks. L'noel is seen here playing a form of Cops and Robbers with a Tribble while wearing a somewhat outdated Federation uniform.
I think most non-predatory species are calmed by the purring such as humans and vulcans. Likely, tribbles do not react well to aliens who are predators and I imagine Klingons are not the only race they dislike. I am sure this dislike extends to animals that naturally prey on them such as the glommer and the high pitched shrieking sound is likely to warn nearby tribbles.
Ah yes, the /Star Trek/ trope 'the aliens take over the ship'. But we're not on Earth, so Kirk & Co. (also Commander/Captain Sisko and other humans) *are* the aliens! Make sure to have plenty of (poisoned?) quadrotriticale on a suicide shuttle to distract the lil' buggers!
Or am I overthinking this again? *pads over to rub the tribble* After all, it's only one, and it's so *cute*! As to the Cait cub, I'll rub his ears too.
