SPOILERS AHEAD. MUH DUDES!!
The light side of the UrSkek MalVa, urVa the Mystic Archer was the Counterpart of skekMal the Skeksis Hunter who lived from the age of Division to the early days of the Age of Resistance, and was Aughra's most dearest friend, though she chagrin his riddles.
Honorable, Wise and Soft Spoken, urVa was one of the few Mystics who would prefer to live as a hermit from the other Mystics, wandering the world like urGoh the Wanderer, which allow him to have a deeper understanding of Thra in his on way. This played a pivotal role in helping Aughra find the Song of Thra, having lost it when she was Stargazing for many ages.
After achieving her connection with Thra, Aughra told urVa he had to face the Hunter to save the heroes, but she could not tell him whether they would see each other again, though she knew the likely outcome and did not wanted to say it. Reaching the Circle of the Suns from the passage of the Breath of Thra, he wounded skekMal with multiple Arrows, but the Hunter escaped taking Brea.
With both counterparts dying, Aughra chose to sacrifice her life in exchange for the freedom of the Gelflings and during the final battle in Stone in the Wood, skekMal comes back from the dead and runs from the castle to finish Rian, but so did the Archer. With time running out and the lives of the heroes and Thra at stake, urVa decides to end the hunt by falling to his death from the Circle of the Suns, giving glimpses of his view to skekMal, literally scaring him to death: the Archer disappears into light before hitting the ground, and the Hunter crumble to dust.
His sacrifice allows Aughra to be reborn a new. The Archer's final speech may have inspired new resolve in the would be Poddling paladin Hup.
