took a labor day trip up to Colorado to see my family. We stopped by Orville's car lot. it was full of old cars. Old Reliable was happy to get away from the town in new mexico. Nathan and I have never been closer. Old Reliable was still reliable on the way and although the red mountain pass was wind and turny he still made it. you'd be surprised how good Old Reliable the fiesta is on trips

I miss my 1987 Subaru Justy. I pulled a 4x8 trailer, the same size as a pickup bed, and filled it like a pickup, and got 35mpg between Bodega Bay and San Diego! I got into two accidents, rear ending a Toyota Tocoma with the passenger front on their driver rear twice - once their fault, second time my only at-fault accident in my life ever. I repaired the car the first time, chained the suspension back together in Santa Barbara and continued on to Bodega Bay, then back to San Diego where I purmanently fixed the car and actually strenghtened the frame (gussets riveted to the sheet-metal frame.)
I LOVED that car, more so than the Dodge Colt I had previously.
Ironically, I paid nothing for the Justy, it was $250 a friend paid, used, then gave to me because I made it run. I got $1700 for the first accident, then sold the car after the second for $600 to a kid in San Diego the day before I left the USA for good.
