My submission to the Serpentes Portfolio being organized by Jadewolf. The loose theme was various snakes and snake legends from around the world, so I chose Jamaica/Carribean area and one Jamaica's few native species, the Black Racer.

Nope, this is actually one of the few pieces in the portfolio that isn't based on any one myth. He's just kind of there XD

Gorgeous piece! Love the almost stylized knots in the tree, and the mottled shading on him. Great details and overall color selection, too.

I always thought those kinda indigenous animals were so beautiful, especially with how they contrast to the vibrant tropical area around them. you really nailed it in this picture.

Snakes play a very important part in mythology, and just the iconography in our lives. I think you did a wonderful job on this digital rendering.
