"That's that!"
With King Simba's help and permission, Pride Rock now bears the colours of Straight Pride, in commemoration of the Straight Pride March in Boston, MA, this weekend. As an old and passionate fan of TLK, with a controversial live action remake having come out this summer (not to mention the 25th anniversary of the original's release) and as a furry who can't find his own colours on buttons and lanyards at conventions, this was pretty significant.
Anyone who's dubious about the motivations of the parade, think of it this way; what if Luxembourg or Lichtenstein could fly their flag at the UN, but Canada or China couldn't?
Simba, Pride Rock and The Lion King are all Disney concepts. Kenzie is my own.

Wow this is cringy af, there's a reason there isn't straight pride, straight people aren't consistently harassed, rejected by family, or even killed and imprisoned in parts of the world still. Thats why there is pride, because people who are LGBTQ+ are a minority and still face prejudice every day. Your reasoning is so backwards lmfao get your head out your arse...
completely dodging the point I made and that is completely irrelevant. Responding to people with sarcasm when they are simply explaining why this image is in poor taste only makes you look like a bigger asshole by the way.. have you considered why this has not got any favorites? Try actually responding to my point that the only reason pride exists is because of the persecution people face who are LGBT, meaning of course there isn't a straight pride because there is no need to raise awareness about people being straight getting marginalized and persecuted. I doubt you will actually address that point and admit when you are wrong though as ignorance is Bliss with people like you.
I don't want anti-sodomy laws back in this country or any other, my friend. But I want more people to be able to express themselves more freely too, whether those views are negative or positive. Sticking "love", "be kind" or "respect" or things like that on t-shirts everywhere has positive effects on the surface, but that sort of messaging can mask pent-up grievances that people feel strongly but can't express. It wouldn't be the first time propaganda has smeared a happy face over serious problems. Think of the USSR. Society is ever fluid and nothing stays the same forever. It could be that Straight Pride is the dawn of a new age of a different kind of expression and a new model for society, just like the 1960's was. Besides, LGBT pride has grown big enough and its imagery ubiquitous enough that hubris can't really be an issue here.
Also I absolutely love the ignorance there, you seriously think one far-right gay person represents millions of people across the LGBT spectrum? That just because one person showed up who is gay that's fine? You do realise many more people turned up to protest against the rally than who turned up for it right...?
I'm afraid it isn't Fred. If anything this proves that there are some straight people who think there is some kind of agenda against them by the LGBT community (which there isn't) or it's them simply stealing their thunder. The fact that there is LGBT parades etc. is due to the fact that the sad truth is society doesn't fully accept alternate sexual relationships, only straight ones between a man and a woman. Many places around the world still don't accept or acknowledge alternate relationships between people and that's why LGBT pride exists. Straight people are automatically accepted by society so really they don't need to make a controversial move like this. While some may agree at what they are trying to accomplish, it is still ridiculous. The world isn't going to become fully LGBT, though that would indeed help with the planet's population crisis. There will still be men who are only attracted to women and vice-versa. If anything this should be about making choices, rather then celebrating a right wing opinion.
You're welcome Fred. Once again I want to clarify that there is nothing wrong at all with being straight. It's just having a pride march for it seems a bit off when it's all ready socially acceptable when a man and a woman are together. Once the world becomes more equal, then there would be no need to establish pride parades, at least that's what many hope for, just simply for more equality.
