I really like her outfit. It's an interesting blend of professional Talwyn soldier and casual beach wear, and it actually looks really comfortable. Just the thing for splashing about in the water and practicing your skills. The background is simply gorgeous, too. Luthien does amazing work, and it's always such a thrill to see Lauren, or your other characters, drawn in her style. It's nice to see Lauren drawn again, too. She's sill my favorite of your characters, by far, and she looks amazing in this piece!

Luthien asked if she could play with her outfit, and while at first I'd planned to use her standard uniform I gave the idea some thought and then proposed she do something with the same design language but play with her ideas, so she agreed and came up with this. Initially I'd pondered more of her using her powers kind of like in some tai chi or something like that, but I rarely turn down Luthien's interpretations of my ideas, so when she proposed this sketch I was like, sold. :)

It seems appropriate for actually enjoying some time in the water, the undersuit really looks like a nice one piece. ;) I like it.

I have an idea for a three part story I hope to start sometime this year where Lauren will be practicing her skills at the start, planned to be her first adventure after becoming a Talwyn master, right after her encounter with Caspian in the comic. I'm hoping to use it to help jumpstart my ideas again, get them back on track.

I thought it had been a while since I'd gotten Lauren drawn, and I had to take advantage of the idea and put it forward so there it is. ;) I'm glad you like it, and for sure, Luthien is definitely one of my favorite artists. There are so few truly skilled traditional artists around here, so many of them do digital, but there's something to be said about old school. :)

If she has a preexisting source of water she can command a truly massive amount of water. Generally for something large it takes a lot of energy and focus, but she can do it. :) Talwyn masters and users can create limited quantities of their element/ability from their powers, but once it reaches a certain threshold you need some source to draw upon. :)
