"Traditions about nagas are... very common in all the Buddhist countries of Asia. In many countries, the naga concept has been merged with local traditions of great and wise serpents or dragons. In Tibet, the naga was equated with the klu, wits that dwell in lakes or underground streams and guard treasure. In China, the naga was equated with the long or Chinese dragon."

Those who know me are very familiar with this piece. I've been working on it off and on for the last 6 months and I had done previous sketches and lineart for it over the last two years. I can finally say that its finished.
I'm very happy with it.
This is my fursona, a naga character named Teshia which is also my alias. She is often portrayed as a regal, motherly character which kinda happened on accident. I'm a part of a small community of people who love pregnancy and whenever I had other artists draw her she would be pregnant and often held herself like a queen. It kinda became me.
This is probably the best piece I've done to date, and definitely the hardest (even harder than the Drake of Bats). I learned quite a bit from it and I see it as a stepping stone to the next stage of my artistic development.
Anyway, hope you like it.
Used: Open Canvas 1.1 and 4.5, Photoshop CS, Bamboo and Intuos 3 Tablets
Time: about 50-60 hours

Beautiful form, especially for the human half. :0
And good luck applying for that position... I haven't had to apply for a job yet with my portfolio (just school lol), but I figure opening commissions like you mentioned and looking at what some of the directors should be able to do would give you a good point to start off with. :D
